The Road

>>61158727 >Time to travel with alcohol to the Pealaguide place. Thank Elone for her kindness and depart immediately. It's early morning right? You thanked Elone enough already but you thank her one last time and promise you won't fuck this up, something she says doesn't sound too reassuring, and excuse yourself. You asked another charismatic guard if Paleguide was far and he told you it should take about 15 minutes of walking. You still have about an hour of sunlight if you were to guess by looking at the cloudy skies above. You don't know the terrain but you don't think you can or should run carrying this. You decide to take a minute to check you belongings and how you're feeling before heading out. All six bottles lay inside your worn satchel, this is quite heavy and the way they clink as you walk makes you feel uneasy. You have a single septim you are keeping in your cleavage and a piece of metal that you learned is a tool called a probe tucked under your waistband. Both the coin and the probe were found on the ship and you have no idea how to operate this probe and what it's meant to do, just that it's a tool. Your stomach is empty but you're not hungry just yet, you feel a bit thirsty but your mouth and nose are moistened by your damp and foggy surroundings. The weight of the bag makes you shift uncomfortably, if there were another bottle or two you don't think you could carry this so you silently thank whoever may be listening for this small blessing. You stand before the road. Is there anything else you wish to do? >>61162160 >SO that's how it's written! Pelaglad! Ok. Before we head out... how much does the room for the night cost in this town? Maybe they could let you sleep in an outhouse/barn if it's too pricey? About hour of sunlight makes you very uneasy given it's unknown terrain. Oh! You already asked that to that dark elf lady on your way out. More specifically, you wanted to know if there was a cheap place to sleep here since it seemed like she lived here for a long time. She was really mean and you'd rather forget the myriad of insults towards your race but you got a few snippets of information like "there's no place for your flea-ridden flank here" and "somewhere else could be willing to accept pets, but you're smell like the type that would spend their money on a bottle of Matze instead". Sure you haven't taken a shower in a while but surely you don't smell that bad. You haven't seen any barns or outhouses here, you don't know about Pelagiad but it sounds a lot better than this muddy village. >>61162882 Ok. Then move move move. Hit the road jack. Also give yourself a good sniff and determine rank of your rankness. Maybe it's lowering your charisma. You've wasted enough time, might as well start moving before the weather worsens and the visibility lowers. The walk is rather peaceful, the sounds of nature calm your mind as you take in the strange looking flora but soon you reach a steep little hill that you struggle with. As you reach the top you can feel your heart thumping loudly. The air is hard to breathe here so you take a short break near one of the roadsigns. Your natural layer of fur combined with the damp climate and the clothes that now cling to your body make you feel gross. You give yourself a sniff and oh, it's bad. You didn't really notice in town with the sea breeze but you smell like a horrible wet mixture of sulphur, garlic and dirt and you're pretty sure some of the people you met were nice enough not to comment on it. Suddenly you hear a thumping sound. It sends a shiver down your spine and makes your muscles tense up like a taut bowstring. *thump* *thump* *thump* You slowly lean your head towards path ahead and right in the middle of it sits a huge bug think with spider-like legs. What the fuck is that? The creature just moves around slowly thumping the floor infrequently. It either isn't aware of your presence or doesn't care. >>61165534 >Ok, just a big ass ugly as fuck bug. Unless it's like supremely territorial, it should ignore you like most animals. let's just walk past it. >Get ready to jump out of the way if it attempts to attacks you. You wait a bit for the bug creature to scuttle towards the side of the road so you can carefully sneak past but it suddenly turns around just as you're passing right behind it and draws near. ...it's not doing much of anything other than feeling around and thumping the floor. He actually looks kinda cool with these horn things on the side. Hey little guy, you're pretty big for a little guy. You don't want to test your luck here so you just pat the space above it. It seems to lose interest on you and continues his routine so you decide to get back to it. You check the road sign and follow the path, you notice some sort of entrance to your left but the weather's getting worse and, although it's tempting to listen to your curiosity, you simply don't feel confident enough about leaving the road with no way to defend yourself. Your task is more important. It's a pretty long stretch of road to carry something like this but you keep going... The air feels dense. And going... This bag is becoming a serious burden, your shoulder hurts. And going... Your feet drag and you feel your whole body sagging. You don't think you've ever sweat this much in your life. And- Wait! You've arrived! PALEGAD! As you finally come to a halt you feel a bit dizzy and your eyelids feel heavy. The breeze around you picks up as droplets of rain start falling gently. TIME TAKEN: Like, 30 minutes or so. You're pretty out of shape and you feel it now more than ever.
