Once you think of the possibility of being locked inside it's already too late, the door closes behind you. It doesn't seem to lock, thankfully. You let out a sigh of relief. Staying as still as you can you try to hear the sounds coming from below but can't make out much of anything. As much as these stairs are a great funnel for the noise you can tell by the acoustics that the space below is tight and closed up. You hesitantly close your eyes trying to pick further details with your sensitive ears and your best guess is that there is another exit down there.
